The Yo-Yo Conspiracy is a political thriller concerning the European Union: a fast-paced tale of double dealing, intrigue, blackmail and murder. A secret plot by Europe’s leaders -- a plan to de-stabilise the UK economy ahead of a British referendum on joining the euro -- accidentally falls into the wrong hands. The hands belong to an attractive young American who is working as an intern in Brussels. With the help of a dashing British commercial attaché, she narrowly escapes the desperate clutches of the European plotters and their henchmen, and goes on the run. Despite the magnetism between the two fugitives, romance must wait as they are hotly pursued from Brussels to Lisbon. The future shape of Europe depends on whether they can live long enough to expose the plot. Although a work of fiction, The Yo-Yo Conspiracy raises real questions about how the European Union is governed, and creates the unsettling feeling that such a conspiracy is not at all beyond the realms of possibility.
