Author biography
James grew up in Massachusetts, earned a PhD in English at the University of Wisconsin, settled for a time in Ohio, and now lives in Texas, with his wife and two children. He is the author of an award-winning book of fables called What the Owl Said, as well as many published short stories and articles on film -- his other passion besides writing and computers. He has worked as a college professor, short-order cook, book editor for Houghton Mifflin, operating room orderly, professional student, librarian, executive speechwriter, and lately as a publicist in the high-tech industry, for companies that have had an annoying habit of going out of business. As a child, his dream, yet unfulfilled, was to be a fireman. The Very Last Thing is his very first title for Online Originals.
